Chris PodwinPrincipalChris Podwin graduated from Auckland University in 1980. He has tutored in court papers and practice at Auckland University.
Since his legal career commenced, Chris has worked for several law firms before acquiring the present practice of Ogles Podwin & Associates in April 2010. Chris has practiced extensively in all areas of court work and litigation involving numerous appearances in the District Court, family Court, Employment Relations Authority, High Court and Court of Appeal. He has served on various Law Society committees and is a member of the Ministry of Justice Legal Services consultative group approving legal aid family law providers. Chris is regarded as a senior family lawyer specialist and is a court appointed Lawyer for Child and Counsel to Assist the Court. Over the years, he has acted for individuals from all walks of life and nationalities as well as large businesses and corporations. Chris also regularly acts for a local women’s refuge dealing with domestic violence cases. There is little that Chris hasn’t done when it comes to court related work and appearances. He has acquired a wealth of experience and as a result has a high success rate with the court work he takes on. Chris has a great sense of humour. He not only listens but he also gives really good, direct advice. Outside of the law, Chris has served as a school trustee at both primary and secondary school level and has been chair of a school board of trustees. Katalina TafunaSenior AssociateKatalina is a dedicated senior family lawyer with a strong presence in the Family Courts across Auckland and throughout the country.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Auckland, Katalina was admitted to the bar in 2016. She went on to obtain a Master of Laws (LLM) in 2022 and is currently working towards her PhD in law.
